What You Will Achieve:

We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a Senior Manager, Accounting position to join are Accounting team. This leadership role combines responsibility for SEC reporting, technical accounting, internal audit, and accounting operation function. The position serves as a subject matter expert in US GAAP and SEC regulations, overseeing the company’s internal control environment and SOX compliance program, and assisting with accounting operations. The role partners across finance, legal, IT, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and scalable processes. This position is remote and reports to the Director of Accounting and Operations. 

 

How You Will Achieve It:

  • Lead the preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports including 10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases, and related disclosures.
  • Serve as a technical accounting expert, preparing memos and advising on complex accounting matters and new pronouncements.
  • Assist with SOX compliance program, including risk assessment, control design, testing, and remediation.
  • Design and manage the internal audit plan and internal control framework aligned with COSO and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with external auditors to support audits, reviews, and reliance on internal work.
  • Ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting and drive continuous improvement and automation.
  • Project manage the end-to-end external reporting process, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate accounting treatment of transactions and business activities.
  • Assess control implications of business changes, acquisitions, and new initiatives.
  • Prepare and present financial and control-related materials to senior leadership and the Audit Committee.
  • Lead process, system, and reporting improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Supervise internal and outsourced audit resources.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-controlled financial results in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Supervise and review account reconciliations and variance analyses, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and complex accounting areas to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and documentation to support a strong control environment and audit readiness.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives across the ERP system and financial close cycle, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance data integrity.

Requirements

What You Need to Achieve It:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
  • 7 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry, including SEC reporting and/or audit.
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing audit processes.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive process improvements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.

The anticipated annualized base salary for this role is $155,000 - $185,000 and reflects current market data for similarly-sized life science companies and internal equity.  Organogenesis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based increases, eligibility for our 401(k) plan with competitive company match, medical, dental, vision, education assistance, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state and federal law.  This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual management bonus plan. Our time-off policy includes paid vacation days, paid company holidays, and paid sick time.  Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education, and other factors permitted by law.
