The Director of Commercial IT is a strategic technology leader responsible for defining, delivering, and optimizing the digital capabilities that enable the company’s Commercial organization—including Sales, Customer Experience / Customer Support Services, Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs and Commercial Operations. This role is critical in a life sciences environment where compliant, data-driven, and customer-centric operations directly impact product adoption, patient outcomes, and revenue performance.
The Director will partner closely with cross-functional business leaders to design and execute the Commercial technology roadmap, ensure seamless integration across systems, and drive innovation that supports the company’s growth in competitive healthcare markets. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Information Technology. This position is a hybrid position and the candidate should be located in near Canton, MA.
How You Will Achieve It:
Strategic Leadership & Roadmapping
- Develop and execute a multi-year Commercial IT strategy aligned with corporate objectives and product launch plans.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of technologies that support omnichannel engagement, field effectiveness, commercial analytics, and CRM strategy.
- Serve as the primary technology advisor to the commercial leadership team.
Commercial Systems Ownership
- Oversee strategy, implementation, and lifecycle management for key Commercial platforms, including:
- CRM
- Marketing Automation
- Data & Analytics platforms (data warehouse, BI tools, performance dashboards)
- Field enablement tools (territory alignment, incentive compensation, sample management)
- Customer master data management and data governance
- Ensure interoperability across all Commercial and enterprise systems.
Operational Excellence
- Lead and mature the Commercial IT operating model, including service management, vendor oversight, release management, and issue resolution.
- Implement best practices in data privacy, information security, and regulatory reporting (e.g., Sunshine Act, sampling compliance).
- Establish KPIs that measure system performance, user engagement, and business value.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Commercial Ops, Customer Services, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Medical Affairs, and IT Security to ensure alignment of processes, data flows, and business needs.
- Participate in launch readiness and lifecycle management teams to ensure technology capabilities are in place for successful product launches.
Team & Vendor Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Commercial IT team (internal and external).
- Manage vendor relationships, SLAs, and contract negotiations for Commercial technology partners.
- Ensure scalable support models to accommodate growth and new product launches.
Requirements
What You Need to Achieve It:
- BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required
- 7 years of hands on technical leadership in application management
- 5 years of Life Science industry experience required
- Deep experience with CRM (Salesforce.com or Veeva, commercial data ecosystems, and omnichannel/MarTech platforms).
- Strong experience in assessing and managing project risk
- Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial (e.g. Veeva / SFDC), Analytical (e.g. Tableau / Power BI) and Enterprise (e.g. AWS/Azure, SharePoint) applications.
- Proven experience managing and leading IT teams consisting of onsite, hybrid, and remote employees, contractors and consultants
- Knowledge of IT compliance (security, privacy, SOX,)
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Superior organizational, planning and project management skills

The anticipated annualized base salary for this role is $220,000 - $290,000 and reflects current market data for similarly-sized life science companies and internal equity. Organogenesis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based increases, eligibility for our 401(k) plan with competitive company match, medical, dental, vision, education assistance, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state and federal law. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual management bonus plan. Our time-off policy includes paid vacation days, paid company holidays, and paid sick time. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education, and other factors permitted by law.
