What You Will Achieve:

The MSAT Engineer I/II supports product development, process development, and optimization activities. The candidate must apply scientific and engineering principles to design, optimize, and scale manufacturing processes, technology transfer, and resolve challenges across the product lifecycle.  This position is primarily on-site in our San Diego, CA office near the beautiful Torrey Pines Golf Course and reports to the Manager, MSAT. 

 

How You Will Achieve It:

Under the supervision of the MSAT Manager the MSAT Engineer I/ II will assist in supporting Manufacturing Science and Technology across the company.  

 

  • The candidate must show initiative, strong communication skills, relevant scientific knowledge/experience, and be a team player.
  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, PM, and external partners to ensure business continuity and solve complex technical problems that may arise in production.
  • Serve as technical expert by evaluating current processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing innovative strategies to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support the transfer, scale-up, and validation of manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Design and execute experiments to investigate hypotheses, make observations, and interpret findings with minimal supervision (e.g., troubleshoots routine experiments, and develop non-routine procedures).
  • Proven technical proficiency and demonstrated skill in project planning and execution
  • Performs calculations, statistics, and complex analysis on experimental results.
  • Performs a range of experiments designed to meet objectives with efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attends and actively participates in group and project meetings.
  • May participate in external seminars and scientific conferences.
  • Has full understanding of and the ability to apply established principles, theories and concepts in area of responsibility.
  • Projects may require familiarity with current scientific literature and ability to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Projects may require familiarity with cGMP processing.

Requirements

What You Need to Achieve It:

  • Bachelor's Degree in biological, biomedical, mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years of related industry experience required.
  • For consideration as MSAT Engineer II an advanced degree with 3 years of industry experience or comparable long-term industry experience  
  • CAD experience preferred. 
  • Proficiency at aseptic processing and bio-processing methodologies is preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.)
  • Ability to work in an organized and an autonomous fashion.

The anticipated annualized base salary for this role is $75,000 - $108,000 and reflects current market data for similarly-sized life science companies and internal equity.  Organogenesis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based increases, eligibility for our 401(k) plan with competitive company match, medical, dental, vision, education assistance, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state and federal law. Our time-off policy includes paid vacation days, paid company holidays, and paid sick time.  Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education, and other factors permitted by law.
