What You Will Achieve:
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Portfolio Management, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling project activities on one or many cross-functional execution teams. You will work closely with team members to develop detailed project plans, defining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements to accomplish the team goals. Utilizing project management tools, you will be accountable for managing project information as the single source of truth to manage the balance between the project’s scope, time, cost, resources, risk and quality. Leveraging your communication expertise, you will work with teams to identify potential bottlenecks and ideate potential solutions. The project planner is a pivotal team member to monitor the overall project health and provide transparent communication to all stakeholders.
How You Will Achieve It:
- Assists with the development of project plans for drug/device development teams using standardized project management tools and processes. Plans and data are used for decision making on device and drug development teams across the portfolio.
- Facilitates team communications across cross-functional teams as well as contributes to cross-functional or department initiatives utilizing standard methodologies.
- Support and advise the project manager and team members on monthly project plan maintenance and information reporting through proper input of project information and accuracy of data.
- Compile and provide standard reports on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
- Interacts with all levels of employees in support of project coordination
- Develops and maintains multiple project planning scenarios. Identifies and monitors project risks, meeting notes, actions and decisions.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project objectives, scope, and requirements
- Develop detailed comprehensive project plans, includes define project scope, deliverables, tasks, and timelines Create detailed project schedules using project management software and tools
- Identify critical path activities and dependencies to improve project timelines
- Assess resource requirements and allocation, equipment, materials, artwork etc. and present recommendations to project managers and team members.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation & contingency plans
- Monitor project progress and provide clear communication to stakeholders
- Provide updates on project status, milestones, and variances from the original plan
- Will Lead and support cross-functional sub-teams to achieve cross-functional deliverables critical for the program success.
- Proactively address and resolve missing or incorrect project data.
- Identifies novel solutions for solving problems.
- May mentor junior staff as applicable. May mentor cross-functional organizational employees of business processes.
Requirements
What You Need to Achieve It:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, and/ or any related field specific to the industry
- 2 years experience in life sciences, drug and/or device development is preferred
- Ability to work independently and represent sound strategies and solutions to identified issues is required.
- Requires knowledge of drug and/or device development process.
- Cross-functional and global project team leadership experience is preferred.
- proficient in technology skills (MS Office, PM tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills. Sound judgment and negotiation skills.
- Has the understanding and familiarity in project management methodologies and best practices
- Exhibit strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple project timelines and deadlines. This includes strong attention to details to ensure accuracy of project timelines and documentation
- Present recommendations to the project team to keep projects on track
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills when collaborating with project managers, team members and stakeholders
- Experience communicating within all levels of the organization to report on project status.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and conflict resolution
