What You Will Achieve:
The Production Associate I - Collagen performs activities involved in the production of Collagen These activities include, but are not limited to, protein purifications, filtrations, and titrations in the production of high quality, purified, sterile collagen for both internal and external customers. This position requires working in a regulated area under the direct supervision of a team leader or departmental supervisor.
How You Will Achieve It:
- Responsible for producing collagen by performing protein extraction and purification, filtrations and dilutions, and chemical sterilization
- Responsible for adherence to all operating procedures, policies, protocols, regulatory requirements and cGMP regulations.
- Performs all tasks in compliance with company safety policies especially involving chemical safety and proper lifting techniques
- Responsible for proper operation of all clean room equipment.
- Provides assistance with process optimization and scale-up activities, if necessary
- Maintains laboratory inventory supply, ensuring accurate inventory accounting
- May write deviation reports
- Performs related duties as directed
Requirements
What You Need to Achieve It:
- A Biotech certificate, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related science discipline is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in general lab techniques including aseptic technique, cGMP and clean room protocols is desired.
- Must be dependable, flexible and available to work overtime and other shifts as needed
Physical Requirements:
- A pre-employment physical and lift test is required for this role
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, for extend periods of time.
- Must have the ability to work in cold room conditions (2-8 degrees C)
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
