What you will achieve:

Works side by side with Supervisor, QC Visual Inspection and QC Chemistry Manager to learn all aspects of Quality Control at Organogenesis.  Will learn basic lab skills and techniques associated with QC Chemistry.  Will assist in creation of visual inspection training aids and construction of a digital library.  The position has interaction with other internal departments, including Quality Assurance and Process Development.  The QC Intern will perform a wide variety of activities to assist the Supervisor and Manager including electronical trending of data, assessment of foreign matter derived from visual inspection rejects, and other projects.  

 

How you will achieve it:

  • Learn all facets of Quality Control work at Organogenesis
  • Perform activities to support the Supervisor, QC Visual Inspection and QC Chemistry Manager
  • Assess foreign matter from visual inspection rejects using different analytical tools
  • Create a digital library of visual inspection rejects
  • Create visual inspections aids for qualification purposes
  • Perform physical tests including the use of an Instron testing system, DSC, and bubble emission chamber
  • Sample preparation, reagent preparation and/or testing in support of verifying UV Vis software test method files with assistance from the QC Chemistry Manager
  • Other activities such as data trending as needed

Requirements

What you will need to achieve it:
•    Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a major in Biomedical, Engineering, Biology, or similar biology-based discipline.
•    Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Basic laboratory skills
•    Organization skills
•    Experience with electronical trending of data
•    Familiarity with Instron/DSC testing a plus

 

Physical Demands
•    Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
•    Approximately 2 hours of standing per day

 

Environmental Conditions
•    Occasional work in a cold room (2-8°C)
